Gigs & Ganseys Scarf – Knitting Pattern

£6.00

A scarf knitting pattern by Julia Day Designs, mixing traditional gansey stitches with designs inspired by pilot gig racing. Printed pattern.

Description

Drawing on her Cornish heritage, Julia Day has created a scarf pattern that combines traditional gansey patterns with her own designs, inspired by the modern revival of Cornish pilot gig racing. Gig racing is a big part of island life on Scilly too, with crews out on the water most summer evenings.

The pattern includes a menu of stitch patterns that can be worked in any combination, so you can create a scarf as individual as a traditional gansey. Its sister pattern is the Ship Oars hat.
