Description
This coral and green interactive tile art piece is a Moving Picture made of thirty-six clay pieces, set in a six-by-six grid inside a walnut veneer frame that Emma laser cuts in her studio. Warm coral and peach, dotted with blush pink and sunny yellow, are crossed by chains of bright green that wind across every piece.
Every piece lifts out. Turn one round or swap it with its neighbour, and the green chains will still join up, because Emma designs each piece so its edges connect in any position. That gives you thousands upon thousands of arrangements to play with, and a picture that never has to look the same twice.
Like all of Emma’s art, the pieces are made from tiny tiles of extruded polymer clay, assembled by hand in her studio on St Mary’s. Each picture comes with a solid wood stand, engraved with its name, that holds it at a gentle angle so the pieces stay in place. It’s art you’re actually encouraged to touch.
