Description
This green interactive tile art piece is a Moving Picture made of sixteen clay pieces, set in a four-by-four grid inside a walnut veneer frame that Emma laser cuts in her studio. Deep forest green and bright lime are scattered with flecks of violet blue and white, with winding lines that ripple from one piece to the next.
Every piece lifts out. Turn one round or swap it with its neighbour, and the winding lines will still join up, because Emma designs each piece so its edges connect in any position. That gives you thousands upon thousands of arrangements to play with, and a picture that never has to look the same twice.
Like all of Emma’s art, the pieces are made from tiny tiles of extruded polymer clay, assembled by hand in her studio on St Mary’s. Each picture comes with a solid wood stand, engraved with its name, that holds it at a gentle angle so the pieces stay in place. It’s art you’re actually encouraged to touch.
