Description
Lift a stone in a Scilly rock pool and there is a good chance something will scuttle out from under it. The Crab celebrates these little residents of the islands’ shores, caught in the moment it raises its claws and stands its ground.
Emma built it from thousands of tiny clay tiles, piecing together its shell, the swaying seaweed and the shifting water, with small shells nestled at its feet. The closer you look, the more you find, just like a real rock pool. Made by Emma in her studio on St Mary’s, it is an original piece, and there is only one.
